Ask me shit! About the author(s): MjH grew up in the suburbs of Encino, CA, born into a family of hilarious Jews. His mother, a witty New Yorker with a sharp tongue, set the bar pretty high in terms of what he looks for in a wife/Jewess.

Forever wearing glasses and on the hunt for Jewish cunt, our man wants you to know that he once schtupped a dame at DIVE! in Century City.

Radiohead - Pyramid Song (Amnesiac)

It was a warm, sunny day in the senior lot at Oakwood School in 2002 and the cool kids sat in a circle, eating lunch and laughing wildly about inside jokes until the bell rang. One of those cool kids just happened to be my girlfriend at the time. I remember it perfectly: Rachel, Ali, Blair, Gracie, Nick Diltz and yours truly sat in a half-circle, blasted by the crisp Cali heat.

It was a special afternoon because Radiohead had just released the follow-up to KID A, AMNESIAC. I had blown off Physics that morning to drive to the WAREHOUSE Music in Studio City to pick it up on CD. At the time, it was a big deal. Radiohead was even a bigger deal back then because they weren’t yet creating memes and marketing schemes to win over audiences. They were simply known for their incredibly mood-altering music. I sat there, on the outskirts of our circle of friends, with my DiscMan on, listening to Pyramid Song and You and Whose Army? on repeat. Blair looked over at me to ask what I was listening to, and I played it for her, propping the headphones on her head.

Later that afternoon, I asked Blair to semi-formal. I mean, duhr, she knew we’d go together, but she told me it meant a lot to her that I’d ask. I remember our kisses being incredibly special that day because I was in love, for the first time in my life, and I was cognizant of the fact. I had it all: the grades, the girl, my brother, and a pretty good idea of where I was going to college. It is this sense of having it all that I keep coming back to.

Every time I listen to Amnesiac I am transported back to a simpler time, when all I needed were a few kisses, some friends at lunch and a date to the dance.
